I was asked this question at my Blue Frog Books signing event Saturday and thought I’d answer it here for those of you who couldn’t be there. I’m passing on advice that I received and put into practice. If you want to be a writer, write; everyday or as often as possible. Think of yourself as an athlete who trains to stay at the top of their game. Not only will your writing improve, but if you hone your skill you will be better at pushing through writer’s block and – when the day comes – meeting your publisher’s deadlines!
About the Author

I have loved books my whole life. Even before I could read them myself. The "Hobbies" section of every form I've ever filled out says: Reading. I've always had the utmost admiration for people who can invent a story that transports me out of my surroundings and into the lives of the characters. So as adult, when given a second chance to decide what I wanted to be, I thought, "If I could be absolutely anything I want, I would love to be an author." And I started to write. My hope is that readers will find the same great escape in my stories that I've found in countless novels. Writing is my way of 'giving back'.
